SPANworks, Inc. has created the MultiPeer industry leading
technology and software that allows users to simply create immediate
networks using wireless hardware (both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
enabled devices). The need for cables and complicated software configuration
will soon be a thing of the past.
MultiPeer is the core backbone technology used by the SPANworks
products to manage the connectivity of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
enabled devices. Think of it as TCP/IP for mobile computing, and
the next major computing technology shift since the Internet landed
on our desktops.
Current networks are great for connecting desktop PC's, allowing
for e-mail and file sharing within a company. The Internet extended
that capability by allowing users to exchange files and e-mails
with anyone else connected to the Internet.
Unfortunately, more and more people find themselves working away
from their networks and Internet connections with their mobile computers,
becoming an island without the ability to share information and
files with others. Imagine calling your IT department and asking
them to set up a network to connect everyone's computers in a meeting
room, or at a remote hotel conference room, or at the local coffee
shop.
This is where SPANworks MultiPeer technology comes in. It
allows the ad-hoc creation of MultiPeer sessions anywhere, anytime,
with anyone, and any device allowing for file sharing and basically
the exchange information. Just turn on your computer, PDA, phone
and you magically see other people in your vicinity who are MultiPeer
enabled. They appear automatically allowing you to directly communicate,
exchange, converse, browse, or synchronize data. All without the
user having any knowledge of networking.
This next evolution of mobile computing is made possible by SPANworks'
patented algorithms and proprietary methodologies of handling communication
links in dynamic, wireless, multi-user/device mobile environments.
This next generation is here now with SPANworks II. What are you
waiting for?
